Vitamin B6 is a water soluble vitamin comprised of 6 other compounds (pyridoxine, an alcohol; pyridoxal, an aldehyde; and pyridoxamine, which contains an amino group; and their respective 5’-phosphate esters. Pyridoxal 5’ phosphate (PLP) and pyridoxamine 5’ phosphate (PMP) are the active coenzyme forms of vitamin B6). Vitamin B6 is involved in over 100 enzyme reactions, is involved in amino acid metabolism, cognitive development, gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, immune function, and hemoglobin formation.
Each capsule contains 50 mg of P-5-P, 5 mg of thiamin cocarboxylase, 150 mcg of Molybdenum Citrate, 10 mg of Zinc Citrate and 50 mg of magnesium glycinate. (The Molybdenum and Zinc were added in July of 2016).
Clinical Considerations: B6/B1 should be considered for carpel tunnel syndrome, joint pain, trigger finger (use with raw pecans), sensitivity to bright light, burning or itching in the extremities, inability to recall dreams, decreased SGOT, vitamin B-6 anemia, sensitivity to MSG, psychological stress, adrenal hypofunction and severe fatigue.
