Few apples have earned a place in British kitchens quite like Bramley. The large green cooking apples have a wonderfully sharp flavour, softening as they cook into the fluffy, well-flavoured texture that makes them such a favourite for pies, crumbles, sauces and baked puddings.

It’s a productive tree too, giving you heavy autumn crops with excellent keeping qualities. Store sound fruits correctly and you can carry on cooking with your homegrown Bramleys through the winter and into early spring. Before harvest time, pale pink-flushed blossom brings an attractive display to the garden in spring.

Bramley is triploid, so it needs compatible apple trees nearby for reliable pollination and can’t be used to pollinate another variety in return. Grafted onto MM106 rootstock and holding the RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit, this is a substantial, productive apple tree for a garden with room to let it develop.
